FAQ
Where did the transparent background go?
JPG does not support transparency; transparent areas become white. Use WebP to PNG to keep alpha.
Is it normal that the file got bigger?
Yes. WebP compresses better, so converting back to JPG typically grows the file 30%–50% with no extra quality loss.
Will old Photoshop open the converted JPG?
Yes — the output is a standard JPEG that opens in any viewer or editor.
About this WebP to JPG
Some places still only accept JPG: older Photoshop versions, legacy Windows photo viewers, certain CMS backends and registration systems refuse WebP. This tool decodes your WebP locally in the browser and re-encodes it as a standard JPEG. Note that JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are automatically filled with white.
